Station G2 notes

MigrationStation G2 is a high RF power (30 dBm vs. 22 dBm) unit with a strong pre-amp, making it excellent for a base unit, especially with a good omni antenna (5-9 dB)

Setup:

  • out of the box, connect by usb to a computer running chrome or similar
  • webflash with latest version of meshtastic software: hold middle key on right while plugging in progressto forgo to JTAG mode
  • stay connected, and open web config program in serial mode, set the following:
    • LORA to US, 7 hops, MQTT ok
    • Bluetooth, set to NO CODE
    • clone channels with either the URL QR code or using meshtastic CLI (meshtastic --seturl)
  • The stock antenna is ok, with a SWR of 1.62 at 906.875 mHz (channel 20)
  • power is an issue: will run with USB-C, but to get the power amplifier working, it needs a PD power supply (20W) 
  • Unit can be run with a 12V supply using the 5 pin connector below, but make sure the power supply is filtered and limited to 12V.
